Waterfoot Yard Cafe Shop sits comfortably on Bacup Road in Waterfoot, offering a relaxed spot for locals and visitors to grab well-crafted coffee and casual bites. This is the kind of place where you’ll find a steady stream of friendly faces from the neighbourhood, often popping in for a morning cappuccino or a laid-back lunch with family or dogs in tow.

The café’s atmosphere is easygoing and artisan in style, blending indoor comfort with a pleasant outdoor seating area that really comes into its own on sunny days. The outdoor space, complete with dog-friendly touches like cushions and baskets, makes it clear that this is a community-minded spot where pets are part of the experience rather than an afterthought.

Waterfoot Yard’s menu suits a variety of appetites, with generous portions and a focus on fresh ingredients. Deli sandwiches like the Yard Club Stack or the Ultimate BLT offer hearty, familiar flavours, while options like the Falafel Deli Bloomer cater to plant-based visitors. The menu also features inventive sides such as Jack Daniels Fries and indulgent treats like bread pudding, complemented by smoothies and unique drink choices including an Oreo Shake and Espresso Martini. Coffee here isn’t just an afterthought either — locals appreciate the care put into each cup, making it a practical stop for anyone serious about their brew.

Inside, the café doubles as a showcase for local artists, with artwork on display and a small retail corner offering handmade candles and jewellery, reflecting Waterfoot’s creative community spirit. This adds another layer to the experience beyond food and drink, inviting visitors to linger, browse, and support local makers.

If you’re visiting, mid-mornings to early afternoons on warmer days are when the space feels most lively and relaxed. Whether you’re meeting friends, working quietly with a coffee, or taking a break after a stroll, Waterfoot Yard strikes a balance between being welcoming and unpretentious. Though the menu can have hits and misses depending on what you pick, the overall vibe and service lean strongly on genuine warmth and local pride.

I popped in for a cappuccino and avocado egg toast, and everything was perfect. The café was spotlessly clean, the staff couldn’t have been friendlier, and both the indoor and outdoor seating are lovely. Especially outside on a sunny day. The portions were generous and fresh. I’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommended!

This place has a lovely atmosphere, it is dog friendly which is a great if you are out with your pets. The staff are friendly and helpful. A great shop as you go into the cafe that sells handmade candles, jewellery, so many things.

Nice cafe displaying local artists work. We made the mistake of choosing the sausage roll. Chips and beans were nice, but the sausage roll was drowning in grease. Sat in its own little pool and the pastry was just a soggy sponge for it. I think we just chose poorly from the menu as the soup on the next table looked and smelled lovely.

What a find! Really warm and welcoming ambiance, with good food, drinks and staff. The style is artisan and laid back...and critically for us it is dog friendly with baskets and cushions for their comfort. Like I said, a really good find!

Me and my boyfriend went for lunch and the staff couldn’t have been better. Food was gorgeous too and well priced! Best chicken burger by far! Sausages you could tell were from a proper butchers too. A truly hidden gem.
